Privacy Policy

Breath Station Last updated: March 11, 2026

Overview

Breath Station is a personal breathing practice app developed by an individual developer. Your privacy is important. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and what is shared with others — which is nothing.

Data We Collect and How It Is Used

Breathing Session Data

Breath Station stores your session history — including technique used, session duration, and timestamps — locally on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your private iCloud account via CloudKit. This data is used solely to display your session history and progress within the app.

Your iCloud data is stored in a private container accessible only to you. Breath Station cannot access any other user's data, and no session data is ever transmitted to any server owned or operated by the developer.

Apple HealthKit

With your permission, Breath Station may read and write the following data types to Apple Health:

  • Heart Rate – to display HRV and heart rate context during and after sessions
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV) – to track the effects of your breathing practice over time
  • Mindful Minutes – to log completed breathing sessions as mindfulness activity

HealthKit data is used only to provide the app's core functionality. It is never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never uploaded to any external server. Breath Station does not access any HealthKit data beyond what is necessary for the features described above.

Background Audio

Breath Station may play background sounds during sessions. No audio data is recorded or transmitted. The microphone is not accessed.

Data Sharing

Breath Station does not share your data with anyone. Specifically:

  • No data is sold to third parties
  • No data is shared with advertisers or marketing platforms
  • No analytics SDKs or third-party tracking tools are used
  • No crash reporting services that transmit personal data are used

Data Storage and Security

All session data is stored on your device and in your private iCloud container. iCloud data is protected by Apple's security infrastructure and is only accessible through your Apple ID. The developer has no access to your iCloud data.

Children's Privacy

Breath Station is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Choices

  • HealthKit access can be revoked at any time in the iOS Settings app under Health → Data Access & Devices
  • iCloud sync can be disabled in iOS Settings under your Apple ID → iCloud
  • Session data can be deleted by deleting the app from your device

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the updated policy will be posted at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
